Helping the Patient – And the Family
Mental illness and/or addictive behavior of one family member can affect the entire family. That's why Silver Hill welcomes and strongly encourages family involvement—with the approval of the patient. This can make a substantial difference in both the patient’s progress and the family’s stability. In this way the family learns to support the patient's recovery and at the same time preserve the integrity of their own lives.
There are multiple services and programs available at Silver Hill to help either the adult or adolescent patient, together with their family, along the recovery process. These include our weekly Family Forums (each structured appropriately to the patient’s diagnosis,) our 4-Day Family Programs, our Recovery Support and Follow-Up Service, and more. Silver Hill also hosts several support group meetings on campus each week. We invite you to explore them through the links on this page or contact us with your questions.
There are several local hotels available for families visiting from afar.
