Intensive Outpatient Family Support Programs
At Silver Hill Hospital, we recognize that the entire family can be affected when one family member suffers from a mental illness and/or becomes addicted to a drug or alcohol. The Addiction and Co-Occurring Disorders Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Family Program and the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Family Program will assist family members to regain stability in their own lives and develop concrete coping strategies at the same time the patient is working to do the same.
These programs assist the families of patients who live at home while attending treatment at Silver Hill.
Addiction/Co-Occurring Disorders IOP Family Program
This monthly Family Night provides the family members of our patients the opportunity to better understand the patient’s illness and treatment. Subjects covered include understanding brain chemistry, bio-psychosocial aspects of illness, and improving communication skills with the patient. Meets Monday nights.
Adult DBT IOP Family Program
Family members and significant others who would like to learn the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, as the patient is learning them, are welcome to do so by attending this weekly DBT Family Program, which meets Tuesdays from 5:45 – 7:15pm.
