At Silver Hill Hospital, we recognize that the entire family can be affected when one family member suffers from a mental illness and/or becomes addicted to a drug or alcohol. Our Family Programs assist family members to regain stability in their lives and develop concrete coping strategies.
Addiction / Co-Occurring Disorders TLP Family Program
This is a four-day program for families to learn about the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of addictions and mood disorders. The program includes education about relapse prevention and aftercare strategies, communication strategies, conflict resolution and the opportunity to dialogue with other families in similar situations. Information on the neurobiology of addiction and mood disorders and medication education is also included in this program.
Saturday – Sunday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Monday – Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Eating Disorders Family Forum
This weekly forum is for the families of patients in any of our programs who are being treated for an eating disorder. It helps family members better understand the patient’s situation and challenges as he or she contends with such things as body image issues and learning healthy eating habits, as well as learning about relapse prevention and how to best support the patient.
Monday from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
