Renew, Relax, Reconnect!
Once you have been a patient at Silver Hill Hospital, you remain a member of our extended Silver Hill Family through our Alumni Association.
The Alumni Relations Department hosts special events throughout the year as opportunities for Alumni and their families to return to our beautiful campus:
- Winter Recovery Support Workshop in March
- Summer Reunion Barbecue in June
- Holiday Open House in December
Our Alumni motto, “Renew, Relax, Reconnect,” captures the spirit of these events: we invite you to just relax in the serenity of the campus, renew your recovery, and reconnect with those who have been important to you: staff, friends and others in recovery.
Our Silver Links Program gives Alumni the opportunity to offer a helping hand of support to patients who have recently completed our treatment programs and live in the same home area. The Silver Link updates the new “graduate” about meetings and other recovery resources and acts as a bridge between treatment at Silver Hill Hospital and resources available close to home.
We invite Alumni to celebrate and share their recovery with current patients by:
- Registering as a Volunteer to facilitate a Recovery Group
- Attending Alumni Nights (Thursdays at 6:45) at the transitional living residences
- Speaking at bi-monthly Alumni Orientation Breakfast Meetings
- Writing for the quarterly Alumni News or The Silver Lining arts & literature magazine
Published quarterly, our campus Arts & Literature Magazine, The Silver Lining, offers patients, staff, Alumni and families a creative outlet that can be very helpful during the recovery journey. It’s another tool for the recovery toolbox. Whether you express yourself in doodles or drawings, painting or sculpture, collages, song lyrics, poetry or photography, essays or short stories, we invite you to share with us and each other.
Alumni are invited to enjoy Wellness Services at the Martin Center: yoga classes, massage, acupuncture and Jin Shin Jiutsu. Please contact the Wellness Office at 203-801-2333 for details.
