Silver Hill Hospital provides treatment for teens, ages 13 – 17, who may be struggling with one or more psychiatric disorders and/or an addiction. We provide treatment for many psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, self-harming behaviors, substance use and eating disorders. Because we specialize in both psychiatric and addiction treatment, we are able to integrate treatments for patient with these commonly co-occurring disorders.
The vision of our adolescent treatment programs is to establish a collaborative relationship with each of our patients, their families and their clinicians in the community. We will build on these connections to help the patient and the family to achieve a meaningful and lasting life course correction.
Adolescents are generally first admitted to the inpatient unit for crisis management and stabilization. The next phase of treatment is often our Transitional Living Program, in which patients reside on campus in a house that is staffed 24-hours a day with DBT-trained personnel. The minimum length of stay for this phase of treatment is 4 weeks, and many patients extend their treatment. This program is self-pay – a small portion may be covered by insurance. Our staff will help you determine if you have this benefit.
