Specialized Treatment for Eating Disorders in Teens
At Silver Hill Hospital, we understand that the issues associated with teen eating disorders are different than those for adults, which is why we created a specialized treatment program targeted specifically for teenagers. With our comprehensive approach to treating eating disorders in adolescence, we are able to safely and effectively meet the needs of our teenage patients.
Treatment Center for Teen Eating Disorders
We offer long-term residential treatment programs for eating disorders in teens, ages 13-17, and with our highly skilled staff and specific focus on teen eating disorders, we can bring our patient’s relationship with food back to a healthy place. We treat teens of all genders who suffer from a variety of eating disorders, including anorexia
, body dysmorphia
, rumination disorder
, binge eating disorder
and more. The program is designed to help residents interrupt maladaptive eating disorder behaviors and emotional patterns, help learn and practice healthy and effective skills and behaviors (eating and non-eating related), and address underlying emotional issues and needs that contribute to the onset and maintenance of the eating disorder. As a psychiatric hospital, we are also able to treat the psychiatric disorders that often co-occur with eating disorders such as mood and anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, and personality disorders. These co-occurring psychiatric disorders often drive and complicate eating disorder symptoms; treating these psychiatric disorders is essential for successful and lasting eating disorder recovery.
