Silver Hill Hospital: Your Path to Mental Health Begins Here
Silver Hill is a nationally recognized, non-profit hospital for the treatment of psychiatric and addictive disorders, a unique and extraordinary place that people have relied on since 1931 to help them find the path back to mental health and wellness.
Adolescent and adult patients have the advantage of our unusually broad and comprehensive range of programs because Silver Hill is a psychiatric hospital providing inpatient, extended on-site residential treatment, and intensive outpatient programs within its extraordinary campus.
Here the combination of an expert clinical staff totally focused on the patient’s recovery and an environment conducive to healing make Silver Hill a hospital that doesn’t “feel” like a hospital, but rather like a comfortable place in the Connecticut countryside.
Watch this short video to hear Dr. Sigurd Ackerman, President and Medical Director, describe what makes Silver Hill special.
Trusted by Doctors, Their Patients and Families
Whether for inpatient or longer-term on-campus treatment or intensive outpatient services, families trust Silver Hill. Doctors have confidently referred their adult and adolescent patients here for eight decades. We try to earn that trust every day.
"I'm using the tools I was given every day to keep my chronic pain in perspective. It has allowed me to resume my life and to really live again. I'm back being the person I used to be and am meant to be - happy, busy, active, social, adventurous, a mom, a wife; a person who loves life and appreciates everything I have and almost lost. More importantly, I have my smile back." - Lauren
At Silver Hill, we know treatment works because we have collected the data to prove it. Patients in our residential addiction, co-occurring disorders and chronic pain programs participate in a follow-up program for 12 months after discharge.
