Transitional Living Program

Treatment Approach
I came back to Silver Hill ashamed, frightened, broken, hopeless and almost convinced that I was constitutionally incapable of getting sober again and staying that way. I am leaving here today with hope that I did not have coming in, and the willingness to role up my sleeves and begin the reconstruction of my life.
- Laurence, a former patient
What to expect from our transitional living program

When you enter the program, you will receive a thorough psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and treatment plan, including pharmacologic treatment as needed. You will reside on campus in a homelike setting where the focus is on developing a psychological understanding of your condition and new behavioral skills to manage your recovery process. The length of stay for this phase of treatment is 4 weeks, but some patients opt to extend their treatment.

We also treat co-occurring psychiatric disorders such as:

Anxiety disorders
The persistent, excessive and unrealistic worry about everyday things.
Persistent feelings of pervasive sadness, hopelessness and helplessness that interfere with thinking and daily activities.

A severe mental illness that causes changes in a person's mood, energy and ability to function.

Fees for treatment

Transitional living programs are not typically covered by health insurance plans, and are most often a direct expense for patients or their families. Some insurance policies may cover a portion of the cost. Our staff will help you determine whether you may have benefits that will allow coverage for this program and, if you do, we will seek authorization from your insurance company to use your benefit. If you need to begin your transitional living program with a brief inpatient stay we do accept appropriate inpatient insurance and are in network with most commercial plans.
